Hunt Club Farm

Hunt Club Farm

Venture just a few miles from downtown Virginia Beach and you find yourself in farmland. Hunt Club Farm, located at 2388 London Bridge Rd, is a family owned farm offering a glimpse of the agricultural history of the area. The 28-acre facility raises livestock, chickens, and goats. They host field trips and offer entertainment in the form of petting area, pony rides, and seasonal festivals. It is open every year from April 1 through New Year’s Eve. Hunt Club Farm can trace its roots back to the 1760s. The first development on the land was Woodhouse Plantation, and the original house is still standing today. It is even on the Historical Register for Virginia Beach.

The petting farm at Hunt Club is a particular local favorite. The venue allows families to get up close and personal with a variety of animals. You can find alpacas, chickens, donkeys, geese, goats, guinea hens, llamas, pigs, sheep, and more. There is also an aviary on site housing cranes, doves, peacocks, and pheasant.

For more fun at Hunt Club Farm, there are fifteen ponies available for rides. Pearl and Bucket are two crowd favorites, but there are all sizes of pony to choose from to accommodate most children toddler to pre-teen age.

The farm also offers more than just animals. There is a shaded playground for children to use. On hot days, the staff will even turn on sprinklers to cool down hot visitors. Families can purchase snacks from the farm’s markets, or bring some from home to enjoy a picnic on premises at one of the picnic tables or benches provided.
